History:
It was a dark night as the young girl wondered off to take a quick few laps in the refreshing water within the enchanted lake. She had on a smooth pink dress that covered her two-piece white bathing suit. She placed a toe in and smiled placing the rest into the water. The moon was held high in the sky, her parents would scold her for being out so late at night, but she did not care as she dived under the water, and opened her eyes to see the wonders that were below.
She came up shortly for some air, she had swam quite a distance under the water, and could not see where the shore was any longer, it made her a little nervous; as peaceful at the water may seem she knew better. She was only about ten at that time, as she closed her eyes and floated on the waters surface. The birds sang and the night was beautiful. She enjoyed this time to herself; it was so pleasant.
She floated right into something, it scared her as she jumped causing herself to fall into the water, below at a sudden speed as she opened her eyes to see a man standing in the mist of the lake. She swam backwards hoping to avoid harm, as it was not normal to see someone stand on water, it was utterly frightful.
He however walked over the water, it moved with him almost and Serenity gave a gasp; she had no words that could speak for her. He however did. “Dear relax.” He had lifted his hand and to her shock the water lifter her up, beaded off of her so she was completely dry, and was now standing on the waters surface, it scared her as she gave a slight scream of panic. She knew there was one who could control water; but had no idea what that really meant. Adjusting to the idea that she was not falling into the water she had her arms folded across her chest; she was uncomfortable. “I have been looking for you.” He said and she looked at him in the utmost fear, looking for her? She could not understand.
“Please, relax, I will not hurt you sweet girl; what is you name dear child?” He asked her and she was shaking she was so scared. Who was this man? What will happen to me?
The forest was never really a peaceful place, you did not talk to strangers, that was a given. “Ser…Ser… Serenity” she managed to give out a faint whisper, she was scared it was not something normal and she knew that she was not supposed to be there.
“Serenity.” He smiled, “what a fine name for someone so fair. I have something for you.” He said and moved closer to her and she stepped back; forgetting she was on water, there was no where to turn and run; as he moved faster he did not look treating but Serenity did not want to take any chances; she was a young girl, and did not want certain things to occurred, but he grabbed her arm and pulled her closer, she froze up, afraid to even breath. “It is your time dear girl.” He said and she had no idea what that meant, as the water refused to hold her anymore and she fell below the surface but it was almost as she was being pulled down deeper and deeper.
She did not have a chance to get a breath and was now struggling against her very joy in the world to breath; she needed air. That however was the last thing she remembered before she was found the next morning on the shores. Her parents completely freaked out and banned her from going into the water again; she could have drowned.
Serenity could not stay away for long however. She did not go in but she would sit for hours looking at the water; remembering that night, it made her shudder to even think of it. It was over two years past that point as she sat on the shores edge that the rain begin to fall as she began to cry, wishing she had not been so bold to venture out so late. The refreshing smell of the rain made her face a smile however and the shores started to move, she looked at it in a confused way, then it stopped, perfectly still.
He was there; she panicked in her mind but something spoke to her she had never heard before. ‘Serenity… Serenity please return.’ She turned as the wind brushed on her face. ‘Serenity please come back…I miss you greatly.’ The sound came again; it was not really a voice but a feeling as Serenity moved back to the waters edge. “H...Hello?” She stuttered. The shores moved almost in delight, she looked around but there was no one near.
‘Come on Serenity’ the voice said again in her mind, Serenity feared she was going crazy and ran from the place back home crying as the rains started to flow ever more. Then it rained, and continued to rain as Serenity looked out her window each morning, nymphs were worried the crops would sour soon. They talked about the water Elementalist, why he was neglecting the waters. That was when Serenity asked her brother what it meant, and he told her the story…
“Serenity, there is one who can control the water in order to prevent disaster, and help crops grow. There is only a few that can control such a gift. Water is like a force not to be reckoned with.” He told her as she looked at him with a slight wonder in her eyes.
“What do you believe?” she asked him.
“I don’t really know. I have no proof that it does exist however I have little to prove other wise. Why the sudden interest?” he finally asked her.
She looked away from him; she was not sure if she was going crazy or not, but it was then that her younger sister came into the room, with a glazed look in her eyes; “Because she met one.” Isabella said, and then her eyes cleared to their natural green. Lorenzo looked at his sisters now confused.
“What?” Lorenzo asked but poor Isabella had no idea what she had said at all, now worried for both his sisters he asked Serenity if it was true.
“I think so…” she looked out the window the water shedding down fast she walked over to it, watching it as she continued. “Remember that night…well morning you found me on the shore…something strange happened.” She said and began to tell the story to both her brother and sister. The sat awe struck, but not so much as to her words but to what she was doing. Her hand was moving on the window, and the water was following it perfectly, Serenity seemed not to notice.
Isabella pointed to her and she jumped after realizing it; I have something for you… the words rang in her ears once again. She is the water Elemental.
