Kristina had spent a lot of time at Home, reading her letters, and answering lot of them, however her mind had been drifting, leading her to avoid topics all together in her column, which was not her thing. The reason she was such a good columnist was because she was not afraid to hit the hard topics. However after she had a vivid vision of the Ministry, which she learned had indeed come to pass she was concerned, had her power developed that far on its own? She had dreams of a list of names, hers on it. However somehow it was not her. Another riddle in the family full of them.
The kids where starting school in under a year for sure. They where growing up so fast it scared her and also made her so sad, for she never got to savor the really childhood of her two tots. They really did not have one, it was really over to quick. Something she hated and wished she could have stopped, It was hard to keep up with them, their powers growing everyday, and they where becoming adults.
Today she had decided to leave her home, the twins in muggle school at the time she wanted to see family. She had no one anymore. She had few friends and living in a muggle area it was hard to describe the confusion of two children nearly ten years old (looking that is) and a seventeen-year-old mother. Perhaps her desire to live with Muggles was to a bad choice, because they looked at her so confused, but most thought they where her siblings, not her children, until they of course demanded otherwise. They where very stubborn at times.
She had to enlist the Ministry’s help in the matter, and Adam Cavan, was kind enough to understand the situation. However help was hard to get. He told her she would have to work on it, for he could not continually erase memories, or create new memories each week the kids grew. She accepted that she would be a freak, in her land and the outside world too.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
The heavy door seemed to vibrate under her soft hand as she used the knocker at Nico and Jack’s home. Their two kids would be out in school, well at least Kristina thought they would be. Perhaps Jack was working on the grounds of the school? She was not even sure what Nico was doing these days. Had it been almost 8 months since she spoke the either of them other then watching the kids here and there.
Hair longer then it was, but still the same girl. Dark blue jeans hugged her waist and a v-neck long sleeve purple shirt under a warm long winter coat, not wizard robes; she had her messenger bag and was waiting, with a hope that perhaps no one was home. Still it was a mixed feeling as she stood at the door of her old home.
Why was she here? She needed a friend again, like she had long ago…

It was hard for nico to admit but things had changed to much around the house, Hayden was in school, and so was jack, nico was taking courses from the house, not really wanting to leave. Rosalie would start next year. Rose's binded powers were starting to slowly come undone, which worried Nico. She couldn't do it again, it wasn't that she couldn't it was the fact that she didn't know how. She needed Kris's help, but she didn't want to inconvience her more, she watched the kids, but she really didn't want to inconvience them, so she tried not to.
Nico worried about Jack more than anything, there was something odd about him that she just couldn't put her finger on, and so she tried to figure it out while he was away from the house, but she always came up short, which she needed more help on that one, but again didn't want to ask her sister-in-law. Nico knew that she had to do it on her own with out draging others into this mess.
Nico had been up stairs in the bathroom, when she heard the knocker on the house. Nico waited and it knocked again. She hurried out of the bath room, and down the stairs, and to the door. The house elves had the day off, Nico gave them a lot of days of lately, when jack wasn't around. She opened the door and smiled at Kris who was standing there. "Hey Kris, what a nice surprise, i was just thinking about you" she said moving away from the door. "Come in come in" she said and smiled, to her. "What brings you here, to our lovely home" she asked politely.

Just the person she had hoped for, oh how long had it been since they really hung out, like old friends? Both too young to be mothers, and too young to be living the lives they did, Kristina knew that it was time to really step up to the plate and take the lead. When Nico answered the door, the cool collected Kris wanted to give her a hug, embrace her long lost sister, and friend. However hat is not what she did, the urge was just that, and nothing more.
“Thanks.” She said stepping into her own childhood home, remembering growing up such a short time ago in this very place. It had shaped her, and changed her into the person she was, good or bad. “Honestly I missed you.” She said looking at Nico.
“What happened to us? I thought we would be close friends forever, and sisters longer.” She said getting all sentimental. In her messenger bag she pulled out a photo of them in their second year. That was a rocky time in their lives. Nico was such a rouge soul, always getting in trouble, and Kris, well a voice of reason in the dark.
“How have you been? The kids? Jack?” she did not speak to her brother since his return, he picked up the kids once and again but there was no real conversation there. Even the kids seemed quiet around her. Hayden was growing up way to fast, so where Cinder and Ash, Jacob that is. School for them soon enough, enrolling this year, after the holiday, they where ready.
Hogwarts, where she did not want to put them, but it was part of them, and thus they where enrolled, house selection soon coming up, she was strangely worried about what would happen. Would they be in the same house? Where would they go, who would they see, and when would they come home…

Nico didn't know how to take in Kris at the moment. "I missed you too, its been too long" she smiled and then asked "Would you like something to drink" she smiled and moved towards the kitchen. "Things just happen and things change" she said to her and moved into the kitchen and put on a tea kettle, that her grandmother sent to her. She was in a pair of jeans and a big sweat shirt, she rarely ever left the house. Rosalie was with her father, and Hayden was with his grandmother.
"Jack is acting very strange since his return, and i have no clue why, and somedays it just scares the crap out of me" she said and she looked at kris and had worry in her eyes. "i didn't want to bother you with all of this, and Rose is growing into her powers again and some of them are just to much for her to handle" She looked at her and shook her head. Nico had broke one of her only promises to herself, she didn't want to bring Kris into her nightmarish mess, but of course that was never the case, she would have soon heard it from Hay or even Rose.
Nico looked at Kris as the tea kettle went off, and she turned around and poured her a cup of tea, and smiled and put sugar, and milk in it. "So how have you been, and the kids too" she asked with a smile on her face.

Things had indeed changed for the two of them, a cold sort of ambiance was in the air, perhaps in Kristina’s own mind. However thy used to talk about things, and Kristina would always be reluctant, but still willing to help. Now being family… well it was a given.
“Sure.” She said to the tea, their conversation was admittedly short, and similar to many in the recent years. “Thanks.” She said as Nico poured the tea, taking in the words Nico had said. Before going into things she smiled, “Kids are good, they will be starting Hogwarts this term. Even though I said I would never put them there.” She sighed, and slightly rolled her eyes, “Can’t change the fact that it is the best and only place for them to be.” She added.
“I’d say give Jack time, but you and I know that is never what he needs.” She said knowing that Nico and Jack talked a lot more then Kris every did with him. Perhaps it was in that bond that they had created a life together. “Well, There are things that I know going on, Like all the work he did, and the torment in time travel… I am not going to bring all that up… but His uncle, my uncle is still alive.” She said not sure if Nico or even Jack knew the news, since the Ministry so wisely covered it up. However as a seer connected to that life she had seen it.
“Well, as for me I have been lonely. Really the best way to say it. Stuck in a rut with no where out. Admittedly I never wanted my life to turn out this way, for got sakes I am only 18 and have two school aged children. Impossible I had once thought, or maybe dreamed.” She said not wanting to get all, poor Kristina on Nico. But she was not afraid to tell her that she was not happy with the way things turned out.
“I can work with Rose if you want. I know what it is like to hold back powers, and then get them again.” She said to her, Kris had a long past with her magic, and now uses it sparingly, less of course the visions, which she has no control over…

Nico poured her a cup of tea when the tea went off, she smiled and placed the cup infront of her. "I had heard that your uncle was back and there is a new person on the grounds too, not sure if she is a teacher or what she is, but she knows jack p." she said looking at her. "Hmm now who was it that told me" she said trying to think her mind was always amiss about some things now a days. "Oh yes it was my mother" she smiled. "Though i dont know why she knows, from what i hear he wants nothing to do with her, and i dont understand why my mother puts up with him, but i guess thats the way love works, look at me and jack" she said with a laugh. Nico rarely understood her mother, or even Jack for that matter.
"You know if you need help Kris i am here" she said "I know all of them but Rosalie, im waiting on her, with her powers" she said "But Hayden will start next term, my mum will be taking him shopping here soon, i would go but i have to finish school too, i am working from here, im sending in my homework, and everything. I talked to Karalynn about it and she said that was fine as long as i did my work and everything else." She smiled to her, but it wasn't the proudest moment in her life, she couldn't think of her proudest moment was at the moment, even though that was sure to change.
"I would greatly appreaciate if you would work with her, i only bound her powers untill she started Hogwarts, but thats just comming up too soon for her, and the bond is coming undone faster that i hoped for it too, and i can work with her on somethings, but not everything, you know im not that great on teaching people on how to do things, when it comes to magic." she said looking at her and then taking a drink of her tea, and looking at it.

Love. Strange how Nico could describe it, she knew it in a way far greater then Kristina did. Yes she loved her children, but that was simply no the same thing. However a simple shrug and sigh in agreement to her words was enough to get the topic rolling more. Love was not a discussion Kristina was ready or even understood.
“Things change so quickly don’t they? I mean look at us, who would have thought that I would be the one not finishing school?” she paused, “Wa” she laughed, “its not that crazy since I hated the place after all.” She said trying to lighten up the mood a bit. “Though perhaps I should strive for more ya know?” Kristina asked, true advice was a good gig, but was that the end? The editor had been giving her more assignemts that where not just advice but hard hitting news. Was that where she was heading? Deep in the heart of all things magical, a news source?
Thanking about it that way did worry her, as she had always wanted to renounce her powers and be a regular girl, however impossible that was, now with the kids with was more so.
As Kristina’s thoughts got the best of her she was paying some attention to Nico. Kristina was way more flighty then in past times. Her mind not on one thing but so many. “That is great, Kara always seems to help everyone doesn’t she? I mean look at everything we have done and she still gives back. I mean she haired Jack!” she laughed at that, all the pranks that they had done between Jack and Kara the parties Jack threw… It was a wonder how Jack managed to get any school work done.
“Yea, I mean I know she is strong, soon stronger then both of us I bet. So I will work with her for as long as you want me to.” She added, “besides with the twins going to school, I will have a lot of free time now.” She said amazed at how fast things had passed. A normal person would not have been able to do it all, that was for sure.
