Aramay was impressed at how quick things had progressed. She had a good following of idiots who actually had no idea who they where working for. Adam and her had been dating for the summer now, and there was no further incidents with the mist, things seemed calm around the area. She was not stupid and knew how to play the game, but she had all the time in the world anyway, so why rush things.
She was glad that the school year was starting up again, and was impressed with how many students would be attending this year. Sure she was going to teach them, and sure she was going to protect them, while she was working that is. Her plan and ideas where two fold. There was no real need to mess with the system just yet, so let it be.
Adam was working at the Ministry, her love spell was working well, and in fact she was even falling for the man, which could prove to be a problem. Adam was sweet gentle and everything a Minister of Magic shouldn’t be. That was why she found him easy picking. Too bad things where not going as smooth on that route as she had thought. What ever the case was she was in a white dress on the top of the astronomy tower thinking about all the things she had doe, and all the things she could do…would do to the bastards who tried to kill her, and sent her to that prison in France.
She was standing over the ledge and the cool breeze was blowing her hair and white dress around like a magical scene. Who could she be so bad? She rested her elbows on the ledge, she smiled thinking about Adam. “Stop that.” She whispered to herself, Adam was the target not anything else.
She turned around and leaned her back on the ledge now and looked at the sky bright and beautiful, just like her flawless…

Kara had been wondering around the school, thinking about stepping down from her spot at the school. She was thinking about going back and just being a teacher again, she enjoyed that or maybe just sticking around the school and helping out in doing odd jobs around the school. Her brain told her that it was a bad idea because then Ms Garden would fill her shoes, and there was something about her that she just didn't like. Kara wanted to disappear again, and not worry about all of the students but she would probably die before she would let Aramay be the new head mistress.
Kara had wandered all the way to the towers, she didn't quite know where she was going, she was just wandering through the halls like she used to do, when she went to school there. She was thinking about becoming a teacher maybe to help her pass the time, since she could juggle alot of things on her plate. She was excited about how many students they had this year, a lot of first years were coming to Hogwarts the first time since they re-opened the school. Kara was glad that the school was open again, but every year something seemed to happen, she hoped that she could prevent that this year but knowing the evil in the wizard world that would never happen.
She entered the Astronomy tower not really knowing why she walked up into this tower, but she hadn't noticed anyone there right away, her first glance took her to the open window, to look at the sky, and she took in a breath at the night sky it was beautiful and amazing. It wasn't until she heard the smallest of sounds that she looked back and seen Aramay there in the window. "Ms. Garden wasn't expecting you to be up here at this time of night" she said as politely as she could, because there was something about her that she didn't like.

She also did not expect anyone up at that time, but then again Kara had a tendency of being around, she was really one person she did have to keep on her tows around, not that she really did. When she first came to the school it was all for good reasons, after all she has a slew of things in her past that would prove to be good. Saving hundreds from the volcanic eruption at Mount Luia. Or when she staid in Brazil for 6 months helping the starving children learn to make their own food to survive. However her résumé of good deeds was a lifetime of build up that came crashing down.
With anything good you do you will find enemies in the wake. And with that change comes. Aramay had became a troubled woman but few saw that, and few understood anything in her life. It did not matter anymore, she did not feel like she had to prove herself to anyone, after all she had worked so hard just to have it ripped away.
“Oh, yes couldn’t sleep I guess.” She said softly but still loud enough for Kara to hear. “It is indeed lovely out tonight. Sometimes I like to look at the stars.” She said breathlessly. She smiled slightly. “It is good enrollment this year, the school is really doing well now.” She said with a smile and looked truly suitable on her. She did not belong there though; she knew it and Kara did too. She just had a different idea of why, but she was not a worry. Things where moving and she just did not have a chance to figure them out.

Kara listened to her, she smiled and said "I guess that's everyone problem around here is not sleeping.' Kara turned back to the window and stared out of it somehow wishing she was in a far of place on some big adventure. She always thought she would be on some big adventure before returning back to the school, but the school was her big adventure. She could never get away from it, there was always something happening to the school. She wondered what drew the evil to the school and why did people have to attack innocent children who don't know much about what is going on, but the older students do, and so it was her job to protect them against anyone trying to harm them.
Kara looked out to the sky, a slight breeze blew through the open astronomy tower. Her blond hair moved in the slight breeze, but she knew that it being fall it might get cold out at night, she was in a pair of black dress slacks, and a purple and white v-neck shirt. "Yes a lot of new faces, a lot of old faces too, I'm glad that everyone survived the school last term, and came back, and new students are pouring into the school every day. I'm glad to see them all here, ready to learn."she said effortlessly like she was giving some speech to a group of teachers, or parents, or someone.
"For the start of the term feast, do you want to start everything off this year or shall i" she asked sighing at the end, still having the though of retirement move into her head and just become a plain old teacher again, maybe of astronomy, or even potions, she did enjoy that.

Kara did care, Aramay could tell that about her. It was just sad that things had to turn out like this. Getting close to people was never part of the deal, she was there to stop Jack Riddle from taking over, and clearly that event was all but missing. So why was she still around? She was not really sure, the people who took her where in France, and where all dead for the most likely part.
“Maybe they put something in the water.” She joked, not in a real serious way. However it seemed that few slept well at the school. Comedy was not her forte.
“Maybe we could have someone else present, maybe I could talk to Adam, I know how much he misses the school.” She said not trying to get out of the festivities but spending more time with Adam was good… or part of her plan. “I know the house elves already have a lot of it set, they are so good.” She said trying to complement them, but it did not sound like one. She did try, but she was never very good at conversation.
“How are you doing? Things well?” she asked noticing the slight sigh from Kara, if anything Aramay was observant. She was not really that bad, she was just making all the wrong choices…

Kara shrugged, "Maybe they did, or its the fact that something new is coming at the school every year, and its just what or who's coming next" she sighed, she was tired, and it was starting to show on her face, but there was no way she could go to sleep, she let the breeze wash over her, wishing she would have been in cooler clothes, but she wasn't going to use magic to change them. She smile up at the night sky and watched as a shooting star race across the sky, she made a wish that this year would be different from the rest of the years, knowing that would be impossible.
"Adam, or even Nevaeh, cause goodness knows that Nevaeh is pretty good at those things, so is Adam." She said with a smile, knowing that herself would have never came up with that idea, she would have ended up doing the start of the term feast by herself, and it would have been good. She figured this year it was time to change things up, other than herself and Aramay doing the opening speech, about a good year at Hogwarts.
"Everything is fine, just a little distracted lately, about what hasn't been happening" she said. "There hasn't been an attack the ministry isn't any closer to finding out the killer, "She paused, and was going to tell her what else but she knew better, cause the other part was Aramay "and just school stuff" she finished.

Aramay was enjoying the night, and even though she was not a person who was a social butterfly she was not all that bad at conversation. When Kara had concerns about the murder Aramay did not flinch, but did look concerned. “Yes, I know what you mean. It doesn’t seem to make sense. Adam is always working on new leads, he is relentlessly trying to find answers.” She said not that it was reassuring, and to the fact that she was the murderer did make the idea strange indeed.
“Yes, Neveah is also a good choice as well, do you think she would be up for it?” she questioned lightly. “Maybe we could have them both, it is nice to have the community involved with the school too.” She said with a smile, yes the more people there the better, right? Was this the next event on the list? Aramay really did not have anything planned, but she rarely did. Something showy but not to harmful. Perhaps…
“Do you ever wonder why we are here?” she asked not really looking for an answer, Aramay was a lost soul, and that was for certain. She had no where to belong and Hogwarts was just another jagged edge to the puzzle. The stars where peaceful, she remembered not being able to see them for months of that pain, the pressure and heat of their attacks… it still made her bones ache.

Kara sighed at the fact that there was still no new leads, the last hope she knew of was the mist that Nevaeh was working on along with someone else in the ministry. It was nothing new, and she should have known it. "I just hope that Adam doesn't get hurt, or even Nevaeh, both dear friends of mine" she said and looked to the sky, and thought 'i hope it still counts as my wish'. Kara looked back at Aramay, and had sort of a plain expression on her face, but nothing more, she knew that there wouldn't any other attacks anytime soon, or at least she hoped not.
Kara smiled and said "I think that she would be thrilled to come back to the school for one night, and we could have them both do something." Some days she was glad to have Aramay around, but it was a rare some day. "I will send out owls out to them tonight, when i go back to the office." She said with a smile and knew that she wouldn't be able to sleep again tonight. This weekend she would have to travel home to get a good nights sleep.
Kara was taken off guard by Aramay's question, she wasn't sure where it had came from, or what she was thinking. "We were all placed on earth for a reason, and we have to find that reason," She paused before adding "My old friend Paige told me that" then she continued with the first part of her sentence. "mine was to bring back the school, and be the headmistress for a while, and move on when the school was strong enough to fend with another person at their Headmistress or even Headmaster" she said looking at the stars. "Or at least thats what i think it is." She added.

Aramay was sure that people would get hurt, but they asked for it, things where so screwed up that she was just as confused as the rest of us. “Of course, it seems like it never ends.” She said to her, if it was not one thing or person it was another. This time it was herself fed up with everything, she understood things better now, why people break, why they kill.
“That would be wonderful. And the students would really get to see what their schooling can bring them to.” She said about Neveah coming to the school. Adam would be fine, he talked to the students before, and she knew how much he missed teaching, those where the easy days he told her, yes easy days where in the past for them all.
Aarmay was surprised that Karalynn answered her, and with a good mind about her. Aramay did not think that she had a reason to be here, she did so much to help and it was not enough. “Well I am glad you have a clear view of things. I have tried to help so many people, and I don’t think that there is any difference.” She said sure that her past spoke little of her future, things could change at any moment, that was for certain.
“Sorry to drown you with psychological blunders, I know it is late. I think I am just anxious for the start of school, and lessons too. It will be a good year.” She said as a statement. She had no desire to be headmistress, and never even planned on staying long at all, but things always seemed to work in mysterious ways.

Kara laughed at the never ending part, something she hadn't done in a really long time, and was taken by surprise that it was Aramay who had gotten her to laugh. Her laugh was something that sounded a little like bells ringing. "I guess you could say its a merry-go-round" she said calming down a little.
"Nevaeh would be really good to get the speech, and Adam could sort the students, this year give something different to our lovely students, who see both of us on a regular basis." She said with a smile, glad that something good came from the Astronomy tower tonight. They were getting things set up for the start of the term feast. She thought of Nevaeh as a daughter and a dear friend, so she would be glad to have them come to the school and get to see them again.
Kara looked at her and shook her head "You have done so much here around the school" she said to her. "You have left your mark on the students you taught, and the people you talk to, you have influenced them" she said with a slight smile on her face, remembering what Paige had told her, when she first started the school, with all the elementals in trouble, that she was doing the best she could with what she had and it was protecting everyone. "You know, you do have an affect on the students here" she said looking at the stars and then turning back to her. "You may not see it, but a bunch of the students look at you like your some kind of angel or something that was placed here at the school to teach them." She finished.
"Its ok, i'm used to all of the thinking, i run a school that has a lot of problems day and night" she said with a smile. "My door is always open, to everyone" she said. She still didn't like her but it was probably tough for her to come back here, she didn't know what happened while she was gone, but it must have been hard so she let that go.

Aramay managed to smile as well. She was a really good person once. It was times like these that made her wonder about her newest choices. An internal struggle only she was going to make or break. “I think that everyone would like that. I know Adam always talks about Hogwarts.” She was going to say when he was not worried about the next attack. Little did he know it was a slow process that was unfolding before everyone’s eyes. “I think if things were different he would have stayed here.” She said knowing that Adam was a strong leader but he was far more a teacher.
“And Neveah is very smart. She has done well in class and beyond.” She said having her still taking lessons in DADA as part of a program set up. This year the lessons would likely be less, perhaps a few private sessions and that would be all…
“That sounds like a good plan.” She agreed with Karalynn about the set up, it was indeed set up well, should she even try to make a scene?
She had to mention the angel? That was a term that was for good people, yes her mother was an angel, but what did that make her? She sighed, “I just feel like it is harder here, the problems are deeper then in most places I have been. You can see a starving child, you can heal the visible wounds, but here you can’t see what is wrong like that.” She said trying her best to explain things.
“Yes, being Headmistress must be very stressful, and having a deputy wondering off the stars at night could make things hard. You are going to find that person you can fill your shoes someday.” She said noting on what she had said earlier, and also hinting that she knew that she was not the right choice.

Kara smiled and agreed, "I think that Adam would have stayed too" Kara pushed her hair out of her face, the wind had once again blew it into her face. She didn't mind that, all she minded was that they were getting somewhere, and they were sort of getting along, or well talking enough to seem like they were getting along. "I know a bunch of people that have left that just want to come back over and over again" she said with a smile on her face.
"Yes Nevaeh is very bright, I think that she should graduate this year officially," she started "There is so much she already knows, and how much more could she bring out of the school. We will always be here if she needed guidance, and or help" Kara finished off the statement, and was glad that Nevaeh was doing so well. Kara had kept an eye on her when she was at the school. So she knew that she was doing well in school.
Kara nodded and smiled "No here things run much deeper, it is hard, no matter where you go" she said "Most student ever want is someone to listen to them, and for them not to be judged" she commented knowing that most of the students came to her just to complain about anything or everything, and most of the time all she could do was listen to them. "I know i don't fully understand, because i have only ever been around the school so all i see is the problems here" she said to her.
"Yes it does get tough but then i remember, that if the school wasn't opened then the kids would be in a far worse place learning magic, and doing things that shouldn't be done." Kara noted, "Yes occasionally i do need a vacation, but thats the beauty of the breaks at the school" she smiled again.

If anything good came from tonight perhaps it was that Karalynn would learn to understand her a little better. Aramay did not have a choice; she had to do what she was doing. At least that was how she felt about the matter. Perhaps this was what real life was suppose to be, discussing activities and making plans. It seemed all too dull, in fact there where so many bigger things in the world, who really cared about a start of term feast that happens every year?
“I agree, but it would be nice if she would visit, maybe even have her as a guest lectures sometimes?” Aramay knew that Karalynn really enjoyed spending time with Neveah, and for that is the reason she made the suggestion. What came of it was still in the air, with all that worry going around the Ministry, perhaps it was like she wanted her out of the way, but that was only a distant thought in her mind.
“Perhaps I try to take on the impossible sometimes.” She said seeking out the big things to fix, and never concentrating on the little things. This evening had turned to be a lesson for Aramay on her own choices, but it still had not changed her mind about the people that needed to pay, needed to learn what it really was to be scared, then just then they might respect their own lives and the lives of others.
“Everyone does need a vacation at times.” She said confirming Karalynn’s statement, however to Aramay there was no place she could be without having something happen good bad or other…
