Jasper smiled and said "Im not sure but i would think that it would be a big leap" he was talking about how it must have been hard for Adam making the leap from one job to another, he didn't really know he didn't spend much time with Adam, it was mostly Serenity and Nevaeh, and other people who could control the elements that spent time with him after his move to the ministry.
He looked at her and took a drink of water, something that was needed. Some days he preferred to drink water over anything else at Hogwarts. "A coffee shop" he said with a smile "So now you can make some coffee, or what." he was interested about her summer, spending it away from the magical world.
"Well as an otter i get to experience the world differently and its a new way to go about the non magic people and learn their ways with out having to do any of it, just lay around and have people thinking im cute and fuzzy." He smiled and looked at her. "It was fun to be an otter, and just lay around and not really have much to do" he said to her. "I used to hang around the castle, and be around hogsmeade, but this year i thought i would do something different." He took another drink of his water and asked "I wonder when they are going to get started."

Kara was in her office, getting ready, she didn't have to say a big speech but she did have to give a little one. Kara placed on her white flow-y sundress and some white shoes, and then she placed her black Hogwarts robe, with the Hogwarts emblem on it. She smiled and placed her hair up in a simple pony tail, with her shorter parts of her hair falling around her face. She was glad that she didn't have to be all fancy. She grabbed the sorting hat on her way out the door.
She smiled as she descended the stair case, into the entrance hall, where Adam was and the first years. "Hello Adam" She said as she approached him and the first years "and my first years." She added to her welcoming. "We should be almost ready for you ladies and gentlemen" she smiled and said "Glad to see you again Adam" she stood there and looked across the students faces, and could see the anxiety, of waiting across their faces. "You all will be welcomed into your houses shortly" she said to them and then turning towards the great hall and entering it smiling at the students inside. "Good evening" she said to them all "We will be starting here shortly" she smiled as she walked up and took her place. The teachers were all starting to arrive, and the students were also arriving, hopefully Aramay would be there soon to kick off the start of the term feast.

Post by Mrs. Aramay Garden-Cavan on Oct 24, 2010 20:14:27 GMT -5
Aramay had her little speech prepared, it was really that simple sweet award winner stuff. Thanking all the people for their help, how much she did not believe was true. Where she was in life last year was a far different place now, but no one knew that at all, after all she was dating the Minister of Magic.
As students flooded into the great hall she rolled her eyes, so young and yet so powerful. They where all so dumb in their gift. No one saw her as she was tucked away in a corner too dark for even her pale skin to bee seen. She waited for the room to get crowded, and she saw Karalynn come in. Adam was outside with the first years, she had been tempted to make a appearance there first, just to show w those first years she had big connections with the ministry, showing off in a subtle way was, how she got away with things.
“Nice to see you.” She said seeing Kara, and leaving her protective little area, where she had to get her mind back into the game. This act was hard, and she was getting darker at the edges. “Are we nearly ready? I do believe some of the older students are getting a bit restless. But the idea of a secret guest has sparked their intrigue.” She said wondering with the young girl wondered off too, she knew that she had arrived already. Aramay seemed to always know…

Kara smiled as Aramay walked up to her from where ever she was. "Hello" she said taking her seat looking around to see where Nevaeh had gone to, she was gonna have her get Adam when it was time. Kara smiled at all of the students glad to have seen them arrive, and most of them were actually still there waiting, probably to see who the guest speakers were.
"Just about, as soon as we get Nevaeh back in here" she said and looked around again. "Then we'll bring Adam in and you can say whatever your going to, then Adam will start" she smiled and looked at her. Kara liked this idea, it was a good one. Everyone got to meet others who were once at the school, and get to hear what they have to say, other than the two people they always hear from.
"Hmm i wonder where Nevaeh is" she said and stood up, and seen her way in the back of the room. "Found her" she said with a smile "Looks like she going to sit down, Lets begin" she said smiling glad that the beginning of the school year was starting.

What would Aramay say to the students? She could tell them that they all could die this year, if they did not get their act straighten up. Or perhaps how she would torture those who fought against the system. However these things where not the makings of an idea leader, at least in a school. But with the go ahead of the headmistress Aramay smiled, “Sounds wonderful.” She said.
She stepped up to the podium, her hands on the sides of it as she looked out on all her victims…eh students. Strange how a year could change everything, last year she wanted to protect them, this year she wanted them to pay dearly. “Good Evening.” She said her voice traveled in the room via magic, because the soft spoken woman would never be heard otherwise. The chattering stopped, and students took seats.
“Welcome back to Hogwarts. We have some special treats for you tonight, but I just wanted to say a few words before our first years get sorted.” She smiled as the doors opened up to let in Adam and the first years. “Welcome to Hogwarts first years.” She smiled at them, she did have an angelic like presence about her. “You are going to have a wonderful time here as you learn all we can teach you about magic and about life. In just a few moments Minister of Magic Adam Cavan will be sorting our first years into the houses that they will be in for the next seven years. Where you will make your friends, live and play together, but most importantly…” she smiled as she wanted to say die, but instead “learn together.” Was what was said.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Headmistress Malfoy for providing us with this wonderful school. She has made it a great and wonderful place to safely study and learn. So thank you.” She said looking over to her, she sounded so sincere, so true. “Be sure to respect your professors, and never be afraid to ask questions too. And without any further wait, Minister Cavan will begin the sorting. Lets give him a warm Hogwarts welcome.” She said almost glistening as she looked at him, the illusion of her love was becoming more then an illusion, but she would not let that get in her way, she couldn’t.
She started off a cheer of applause for the Minister.

Adam was pleased to be with the next generation of witches and wizards. They where smart and had so much potential. “I hope you all are excited. Hogwarts is going to lead you to your future. It is a great school, but I am sure you will all find that out soon enough.” Adam said, as the room on the other side of the door got quiet. He smiled, “Okay, I believe we are starting.” He turned to face the doors as they opened he motioned for the first years to follow him, they stood behind him and he walked in to see his lovely Aramay presenting. He could have blushed, but this was not the time for such silliness. Confidence. That was the key. Adam turned to the students, motioned to wait right there and stepped up the platform where a chair sat, with the old fashion tradition… the sorting hat. “Thank you Miss Garden.” He looked at her, most of the older students knew that they where dating, but by the looks they gave each other, it was all too obvious. Young an in love, what else is there? “And it is my pleasure to present to Hogwarts the new class. Sorting is a time honored tradition, that each and every student gets to partake in. This year like each in the past students will be called by name, take a seat and the hat will see into you mind to fit you in the best house. This house you will be living in for the next seven years of study, and have competitions with each other, create teams, and find many, many friends. “ Adam spoke, each word was with enthusiasm, but still in the Adam like way of always teaching, and pushing forward. “The four Houses of Hogwarts are Huffelpuff, Gryffindor, Slytherin, and Ravenclaw. Each has its own values, and each has a passion. Once sorted you can take a seat any where you like. However fellow housemates are encouraged to invite new students to dine with them.” Adam said, wanting the students to get to know each other, as well as not be shy either. “Without further ado, the sorting hat—“ he said stepping to the side as the old hat began its movement, like an elegant play the slit on the hat opened and closed and then the words started to form. “yes, yes, four houses indeed.
Of that of Huffelpuff, sure you could Pure of soul, a virtue to hold Kind of heart, solid as the wood None that needs to be told
Gryffindor is that indeed Strong of heart, brave in mind Bold should fear that of greed You will always have time to find
That of a Slytherin Not hard to find, bold yet misguided Mind and heart, only where to begin Not everything is single sided
No not least but last is yes Ravenclaw the wise, fine, and prudent Those who know one should never just guess Will make a fine and advanced student
Tough to proceed Don’t you stampede Cavan will read Beware of the one that can mislead…
It was the first time the hat had ever spoke a persons name, other hten the founders, in its speech. This intrigued Adam, but also worried him a bit as well. “There you have, may I have Albright, Abby please step forward…” the names took forever it would seem as he got down the list. “Potter, Alice.” He said, looking at the students for the next face to come out of the group, house sorting was long and tedious at times, but some students got a hint of their mind from the hat.

Alice slid in line in front of her new friend Hayden. When he asked if she had fallen again she turned on him with a look of shock quickly putting her index finger to her lips and shushing him. "No one saw it so it never happened." She smirked as she turned back around hoping that her late entrance had not been noticed though she doubted that she was so lucky.
All she could really hope for was that no one would bring it up. She turned back to Hayden with a smirk. "Lets say we mix things up a bit. once you're sorted no matter what house you're in come and sit by me." She smirked as she turned back forwards knowing full well where she was going to sit, and knowing that there wasn't the slightest chance that she would be sorted into that house.
She heard her name called and she rushed forward to have the sorting hat placed on her head. Her family had told her how the sorting hat would talk to her in her head, but that was not the case. As soon as the hat made contact it yelled out "Gryffindor" A huge smile broke across her face having been sorted into the house that she wanted.
As she stood from the stool she took a deep bow towards the table that was now cheering, and then she walked to the opposite side of the hall to the slytherin table and she sat down next to her new friend Miranda Vine. "Hey whats up? No one really noticed my late entrance did they?"

Adam was pleased to be sorting the going well, and the more students the longer it took. And even he left that too. That was not a big deal, because first years where all just on the edge to see where they would be, while still others had their mind set on where they would be. He called out name by name, and even with the open seating many students stayed within houses, perhaps it was because it was so much easier to befriend a roommate!
Once Alice was sorted she scooted over to a seat. Again he called a name, and the hat shouted out the houses, and he ventured down the list to Hayden Riddle. He knew the boys family well, and hoped the best for him. “Hayden Riddle, your up next.” He said picking up the hat and waiting for him to sit, and would again place it on his head, like each student had always done.

Hayden smiled at Alice and said "No it did happen cause i seen it happen" he laughed, and then said "Other then me i dont think anyone else noticed it, they were all talking about what houses they hoped to be settled into, and what classes they would like be in right away what ones they couldn't stand, just by looking at the books." He looked at her then around them wondering when it would be time for them to go into the great hall.
Hayden was getting nervous, but he didn't let it show. "Sounds like a plan" he said when she told him to sit with her after being sorted. He was nervous as she went up, and everyone before him. He didn't know what to expect well he did, but he didn't. He hoped that he wasn't placed in slytherin, but it really didn't matter, but he didn't want to be in the same house as the rest of his family. He wanted to be different then them, a different house and then they would see that not all of them are the same.
Adam called his name, and he walked slowly up to the stool and the hat, nervous of where he would be placed. He sat down on the stool and the hat was placed on his head. It didn't speak for what seemed to Hayden ever. "Ah a Riddle, i know where to put you" Hayden started to get worried about being placed in slytherin. "But your mind says otherwise, you will do great things in.." The hat pause as if to think for a moment or two before continuing "RAVENCLAW". It had shouted over the hall, Hayden was glad to be placed in something other then Slytherin. The hat was taken off of his head, and he jumped down off of the school. It seemed like the school was still in a little bit of shock because he was the first Riddle to be placed in something other then Slytherin, but he was glad.
"What a nightmare" he said reaching where Alice had sat down, "Hello Miranda" he said to her and smiled. "I surely thought he was going to say Slytherin" he smiled again.
