Nevaeh was getting read in the Bathroom in the castle, she had showed up in work clothes, not her normal work clothes, but the ones where she tended to get dirty when working with the dirt and the earth. Nevaeh was glad she was asked to talk at the start of the term feast she wasn't quite sure what she would say to them to get them to follow their dream and no matter the problems they face along the way.
Nevaeh waved her wand and she was in a beautiful white and yellow dress. She didn't bother with shoes, then again she rarely ever did. Her hair was down and curly like it normally was. She placed on her ministry robe, and it completed her look. She smiled into the mirror, and was glad she looked in the mirror. She looked like she hadn't slept in a while, but she had. She pulled out her wand and diminished the look of the dark circle under her eyes.
Nevaeh was now satisfied with how she looked and she turned and left the bathroom. She was early for the feast, but that didn't matter, that gave her time to look around the school and see how it changed, and how it didn't. She was glad that the school was starting up again, she wanted to talk to Kara and Aramay, about this year, and what she would be doing, would she be coming back to classes everyone once in a while, or what would be happening.
Nevaeh finished walking around the school, or well the bottom floor, and walked into the Great hall, it was a little different then she remembered it, there wasn't one set place for the different houses everyone could sit where they liked. She was glad that they were moving on in the school, or well the students were getting along. 'Nevaeh, you should talk about your experience and how that leaving school gave you the opportunity to see how much that people should stay and learn more, and that with dreams are always possible.' Nevaeh smiled and said "Of course" she was glad that she had a little help to come up with things like this.

Jasper smiled glad that it was the start of the new term. He had been there for about a week before the term started. He had a chance to get everything together, and ready. he didn't even know who the guest speakers were, but he was glad that there were going to be guest speakers, and he was going to have a chance to listen to someone else before he left the school. This was his last year, he wasn't sure what he was going to do at the end of the of it. He wanted to go into the ministry, but he could stay at the school and be a teacher, he could be the transfiguration teacher, cause she was going to retire soon.
Jasper got dressed in his school uniform, and walked down the stair case, and smiled thinking that it would be his last time walking down the stairs to head to the start of the term feast. This was going to be a great year, and he would remember it for a long time, not sure if he would remember it forever, but it would be a year to remember.
Jasper walked into the Great Hall, he was really early for this but he wanted a good seat. They were different this year, they could sit where they wanted. He smiled and picked one of the largest tables there. It looked like they replaced the tables with little wood ones, with seats instead of benches. He smiled he was liking the new set up, with any luck he would be able to sit with River, and a bunch of other people.
He looked around the room, feeling someone was there, and he smiled when he caught the site of a red head that should still be in Hogwarts but here she was, the talk of the world. "Nevaeh" he said with a smile, walking up to her. "I didn't know you would be here at the school" he said surprised.

River was heading toward the great hall, for the start of term feast that she had missed the previous year due to her late arrival. The thoughts of Serenity where locked behind her as she was still the same girl but so different as well. She was learning, and it was an experiment that would change her life.
She felt like her school robes where wearing her down as she was pulling at the shirt collar, and kept flatting out her skirt. She walked down the corridors from the Gryffindor tower, she liked it up there, having a bed right near a window this term felt so comforting, it was indeed nice.
She had tried out for quidditch the previous year and they had promised her a position for the upcoming year, since their seeker was leaving. She liked the game, but loved the flying much more. It was intense up in the air, but she took it as it was. She had a strange feeling that someone was watching over her, that feeling was the water. She still had her abilities but they where suppressed.
She walked quietly and had soft steps as she headed down each flight of stairs to the feast, which was rumored to be better this year. She was not picky though, she was just glad to have a place to learn, and the castle felt like home to her, but she was sure many other students felt the same way.
She opened the doors to only see two people, one she knew by reputation, and the other was Jasper…
She smiled, looked around at the tables and set up, not what she had expected from what others had told her about the feast, but it seemed nice too. “Good Evening.” She said not to loud, but enough that she would be noticed. She was not shy, but she also did not want to interrupt them either.

Nevaeh smiled as someone walked up to her. "Well Jasper, How are you this lovely evening" she asked him glad that she knew him, and it wasn't some stranger just walking in and just sitting down doing nothing. Nevaeh didn't like to talk to herself in front of people that she really didn't know. Some of the student thought of her as weird, but Jasper didn't, and neither did Serenity, every once in a while she caught the feeling like Serenity was still around, but couldn't be seen. Well it was true, Serenity was the water elemental, and she could have been anywhere, still watching over the castle watching over classmates she liked. Nevaeh just hoped that she was at peace with herself.
"Yes well i still am a student here, on the occasion" she said with a grin. She wasn't about to tell her secret just yet. She would let her classmates be surprised. She liked surprises if she was in on them. 'Someone else is coming in to the hall'. The spirit said to her and Nevaeh just smiled and didn't answer it. "You see different to me Jasper, what have you been doing since i was last here to see you" she asked and smiled.
Nevaeh looked up as someone else walked into the room, and said a short hello. She didn't really remember her. but something familiar about her, she was tempted to ask but didn't want to. "Hello. I'm Nevaeh" she said in a slightly shy voice, being in the ministry she had to get over her shyness, but still on the occasion it still popped up into her personality, like any good trait. She resisted to ask if they had met before, but thought it wouldn't be appropriate to ask, that here, maybe she would send her an owl and ask her, then that was too tacky.
'Focus Nevaeh, or you'll forget your speech, and stop wondering about why she is familiar, you used to go to school here, probably seen her around school.' her spirit was tired of her going over how she was familiar. "Yea your right" she said randomly to herself, not thinking anything of River being there, and she didn't notice anyone else come in.

River couldn’t help feeling like she belonged at the school, but she always wanted to find a place to fit just right. Being an only child she was often lonely and it was nice being surrounded by people like at the school. She did not have someone telling her about the person anymore, and she did not know right off the bat who a person was, like before.
River was becoming a very different and individual person, strange as it was. Magic was strange, and Serenity needed to get back to the basics, the water had not even protested this, perhaps it was because they where so connected. When the read headed girl introduced herself Rivers smiled, “Hello, I am River. It is nice to meet you.” She said and tilted her head a little, she was so different in appearance then Serenity was, but she was just as sweet, and maybe a little bit spunky too.
“Hi, Jasper. It is nice to see you again.” She said waving her hand close to her body, it was cute and slightly childish, but she did not know how to act around him. That strange connection was not as evident now that she did not remember being Serenity, but she couldn’t help but feel something strongly toward him, wither it was good or bad would take time to tell.

Jasper smiled at Nevaeh when she spoke, "Well im just fine and dandy" he said to her and smiled. He straighten his robe, and was glad that Nevaeh was there. He couldn't help but notice how different she looked from the last time he had seen her. She still had the same personality as he remembered. She would have been a 4th year this year.
"Well i thought there was an ulterior motive as to you being here" He said to her. "There is another reason but you aren't going to tell me are you" he asked her smiling. "You cant hide everything from an empath" he joked with her, but it was possible. "Well i tend to be more in my otter form, so i might be starting to smell like it." He said with a smile "Or it could be that i like this girl maybe even love, but thats a far leap for not knowing how she feels about it." He said to her "And before you even say anything she has mixed feelings about me" he said eying her. "Oh and it being my last year, pretty darn excited, im thinking about either going into the ministry or becoming a teacher here" he said enthused.
His face light up when he felt River's feelings, she was really easy for him to notice, after all he really like the girl. "Hello River" he said after she introduced herself to Nevaeh and said hi to him. "Always a pleasure to be in the presence like yours" he said with a smile on his face, giving a little bow. There went the gentleman of him, always doing that around River. "And how are you this evening river" he said with a smile on his face. He heard what Nevaeh said but ignored it he was used to it with Serenity. His mind turned to her wishing she could be there to see this with him.

River couldn’t help but feel at odds with how Jasper was, he was sweet, but was he too sweet. And old fashion way that her mother would love for sure, but did she love it? Being undeceive must be a family trait, her mother said it took her 6 moths to finally say yes to marrying her father. When you know its right it will hit you, but it is a bumpy ride before hand. She would tell her.
“I am good, I like the set up, different then I remember it. Everyone in the dorm was talking about there being a cool guest speaker. I never knew they did speakers at start of term. Is that something new?” River asked, she was curious but also free too, she was learning more about things, but she was becoming a part of them more then Serenity had. She did not have that fear like Serenity had.
Fitting in was normal, but she could start to see the smaller things. The things that where there everyday, and in front of a persons eyes, not a grander theme, and not the entire world.

Nevaeh smiled and said "I believe its the last two" She said to him with a smile on her face. Nevaeh put two and two together when she seen the way he acted around River, it was sort of the way he acted around Serenity, now she was thinking about her again. She pushed Serenity out of her mind once again, and let it fall back on the scene before her.
Nevaeh smiled at Rivers question. "Every once in a while they will have some guest speakers, something to try to keep the students from skipping out of the start of the term feast." She said to her and looked around. "The set up is new, i haven't seen it done like this." Nevaeh said and pushed her hair out of her face.
Nevaeh looked at Jasper then to River, and said "I'll be back, before the start" she said "I have to find Headmistress and or Adam" she smiled know she reveled something but she wasn't sure if they would get it, she knew Jasper might catch her hint but she wasn't sure if River would.

Jasper smiled at Nevaeh and shook his head, "No just the last one" he said and laughed lightly. He turned to River and smiled at her, Nevaeh had answered her question before he got to, and he was just fine with that. He was enjoying the company of River as well as Nevaehs. He always liked the company no matter the person, well almost no matter the person.
"Shall we sit" He suggested to one of the largest round tables, he walked over and pulled out a seat for both of the girls, before he knew Nevaeh was going to leave. "I figured this one because i don't know who would want to sit with us, and if we need a smaller table we can always grab a smaller one" he said with a smile, waiting for them to come and sit down, as soon as they would sit he would push their chairs in, like a gentleman.
Jasper smiled at Nevaeh when she said she was going to leave, but would be back. "Well i believe The headmistress is outside with the first years, or she is in her office, passwords still the same" he said with a smile on his face. "Last i knew Adam was in the Ministry, unless he is a guest speaker" he looked at Nevaeh questionably.

River smiled at Neveah, it was nice of her to let her know these things, she knew she was not really a student but she looked much younger then she had presumed, she would think about asking Jasper about that later, but did not want to be rude either. “That is a good idea, but why would they want to skip out?” she asked having known the school had recently reopened, wouldn’t they want to take part in the school events, but it was really not a question of that, rebels she figured.
This was her first feast, and it would be nice to see the sorting ceremony that people raved about. She sat in a room with a hat that told her that she had a lot to show people, and a few other things but Gryffidnor it said rather loud, perhaps because it was sitting on her head that it seemed so loud. She had to wonder if they cleaned the thing… sure hoped no one had head lice or anything.
However that would be interesting to find all first years with head lice in the nurses office, after all she was assisting this year. “Okay, It was nice to meet you.” She said before Neveah left. “Who is Adam?” she asked sweetly to Jasper, wondering if he was another student. Serenity knew everything before others did, so it was different to not know anything. However when he said Ministry she had to wonder if they where talking about Adam Cavan, the Minster of Magic, they called him by his first name? Different.
River thanked Jasper and took a seat, she was not picky about seating, in fact was glad that she was able to sit with Jasper and maybe get to know more people then just those in her dorm. “SO how was your summer Jasper?” she asked him once Neveah had left, River did not think anything much of it, students where in and out a bit before the start, getting to see some of their friends from the year before and what not.

Jasper listened to River and said "They skip out because they don't like sitting through the talking and all of the sorting they normally sneak down to the Kitchen later and then a bunch of the house elves make them something to eat" He smiled at her and sat down at the other seat he had originally pulled out for Nevaeh but since she was leaving he would sit there.
Jasper laughed slightly at the who is adam question. "Well he was the care of magical creatures professor." He started, "Then him and serenity" he nearly chocked out Serenity's name. "Disappeared, and he came back, but she didn't' he really didn't like the story, but for her to understand why he was Adam to them it was needed. "He went and became the deputy minister of magic, then the minister was killed now he is the minister" he said to her. "but we all call him Adam because when he was at the school didn't like to be called Professor Cavan, he liked Adam" he said to her.
"My summer was spent swimming around London" he said with a smile. "Yes it was very odd to see an otter, but they got used to it, became a legend, about the mysterious otter in the rivers." he smiled a sweet smile "But when i wasn't doing that i was spending my time thinking about you and the school, and how its my last year" he smiled.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Outside With The First Years -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- It was not the normal to see a Ministry official heading up all the first year students, but what was even stranger was that the man was the Ministry of Magic. A few of the students might have been scared, but a few also knew Adam either by reputation or knew of him at the school too. It was a pleasure for Kara and Aramay to ask him to do this. It was a good change from the field of work he was doing now. Adam was in his Ministry robes, looked the best he had since taking on the position, and actually had a smile on his face. He loved seeing all the young witches and wizards eager to learn at Hogwarts. It was indeed a true and decent time to be there. They had already crossed the water and had only a minuscule part of what Hogwarts experience was going to be like. He wished he could have been a student, this school was truly amazing. “Welcome to Hogwarts.” He said hands in an opening jester as they where outside the entrance. “Some of you know how great the school is, others are worried about what it will be like, but I assure you it will be an experience like no other, and one that will shape who you are, and who you will become.” He said right off the bat. “Let me introduce myself, I can already tell some of you are wondering what I am wearing Ministry robes, that is because I am the Minister of Magic, Adam Cavan. I once taught here at the school, and before any of you are worried I am hear not on business, unless sorting you youngsters into Hogwarts houses is work.” He smiled, no, this was pleasure indeed. “Inside these doors some of you have only heard about, others have seen, and few have lived in.” he looked around, not singling any one out in the group. “You have a great future ahead of you, and it is my job to make sure you get here. As the Minister I work around the clock to help and guide.” He said, oh, he did miss teaching. It was taking just so much time to do his job that he just couldn’t do much else, but tonight his thoughts where only right here and right now. “Perhaps after seven years I will see some of you again at the Ministry? Now, don’t worry you don’t need a life plan right now, but it is great to start thinking about it.” He said, he was friendly, communicated with a sort of grace, a leader but also a friend. Adam could feel many powers in this group, they where all strong, and all had such potential to make this world better. “Before we go in, does anyone have anything they want to ask?” Adam was an open book, he did not fear a question, and he knew how to word things for any person, perhaps being a telepath allowed him to have that sort of insight. Whatever the case was, he felt a lot coming from these kids, and was glad that they had a place like Hogwarts to study and grow.

River understood, “Yea I heard that there where a lot of first years coming in, so it could be a while.” She mentioned. She still wanted to go, she wanted to be a part of the Hogwarts experience, at least get a little perspective on how the school was moving. Soon after he gave her a little chuckle, seemed like the minister of magic was quite the down to earth person.
“Wow.” She hesitated, “That was very. ..direct.” she said filling in the words she noticed him get chocked up on a girls name, Serenity… Had he mentioned her before? She slightly wondered. Some of the other students talked about her as a head nurse, being a nurse assistant she knew of the person, or well nymph they said?
“That must have been a big change from professor to leader of the ministry.” She said sounded intrigued. She was curious, and almost like she was still finding her ground, and in some respects like she hadn’t done or heard of something very common before. It was to be expected with Serenity’s magic behind it.
She wanted to ask more about this isapeared business, but it did not seem like a great topic, so she just let it pass, maybe another time she would bring it up. “Really?” she chuckled. “I got a summer job at the local coffee shop. My parents thought it would be good to see the real world.” She said with a roll of her eyes, yea, the real world where people had to work with their two hands… not a wand. Truth be told, she used a little magic here and there. Just to see how much she could get away with and it was so much easier too!
“I hope you don’t mind, but why on earth would you want to spend your summer as an otter?” River was not all too sure about transforming into anything let alone a strange animal, how it worked was beyond her, and why a person was able and another was not confused her too. Transfiguration was not going to be her class for sure.

This was just so like her, she thought as she ran down the hallway. She had been one of the first first years into the school standing right outside the great hall. Then of course she had to make a quick run to the bathroom. Then she got preoccupied by the state her hair was in after falling into the lake. She had been sitting there messing with it trying to make it look somewhat normal. She wished that she had at least skimmed through her books then maybe she would know a spell to fix it. She had managed to tug a brush through her hair, and finaly got it looking half decent. Then she realised how much time she had taken.
"Shit, shit, shit." She muttered under her breath as she ran. She was so going to be late. She was sure that everything had already started. She'd be lucky if she got back in time to be sorted. What would they do if she wasn't. Would they send her home and tell her to come back next year? She certainly hoped not her cousins would never let it drop if that were the case. She reached the marble stairs down to thew great hall and she slipped bouncing down the stairs on her behind. She walked into the great hall rubbing her butt not surprised that most people were looking at her as she went to take her place in line.

Hayden smile, he was glad to be with the the other first years. He had waited for this day to come, the day where he would be sorted into a house, and he could have more friends who just liked him for him and not for who his family is or was. He was glad to have already made friends. He was glad to have found friends he could be himself around already. Hayden was standing around with the rest of the first years while the Minister of Magic talk to them. Adam seemed glad that to be back to the school.
Hayden hung towards the back, waiting for Alice, who seemed to disappeared. Hayden kept looking around to see where she was. He turned around at the right time to see her walking towards them rubbing her butt she must have fallen. "Alice over here, did you fall again" he asked her with a smile on his face. He was dress in his robes, that weren't labeled yet, he was in a basic Hogwarts uniform waiting for them to go in to be sorted. He was excited to be there and he was glad that most of his family was not there. So they could make a fool of him even though sometimes he could do that all on his own, tonight he was determined not to let that happen.
